Talented author, Anita Davis is fast becoming one of my favorite writers. When I pick up one of her books, I know that I will be reading a well-written story that captures my attention from the first to the last page. Tones is such a story. Tones explores the love journey between Desmond Douglass, the owner of Tones, a nightclub in Manhattan and Simone Gadberry, a sought after MUA (make up artist). She is also the best friend of Phaedra Winters (Liv Summers), heroine of HUES, the first book of the Limelight series. I enjoyed Desmond and Simone’s love journey. However, the “tone “ that Desmond sets with Simone needs some fine tuning. You’ll get that when you read the story. There are two memorable scenes: The wedding ceremony of Phaedra and Parker, and the outing of Councilman Montgomery, who tried to take Desmond’s club from him. The HEA is so sweet! If you enjoyed Hues, then you will also enjoy Tones. I recommend it for your reading pleasure.
