Thicker Than Blood ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
By Mary Ann Finley
Thicker Than Blood has so many twists and turns I couldn’t put down the book until the I finished. Each chapter had you wondering what was going to happen next.
Gerald Lamar was a dedicated detective who took his job seriously as well as being a family man. He undeniably loved his wife, Camilla, for 20 years and provided for their children. Family meant a lot to him especially his brother Ramon. But the secrets in this family almost destroys him as well as his faith in God.
Gerald loved his brother, Ramon, but he really didn’t know him. Ramon was a writer which made him famous and lots of money. But Ramon had an evil and dangerous side which Gerald was not aware of until Ramon was murdered. Gerald also finds out Ramon has been having an affair with Camilla for 20 years which started the day before Gerald and Camille’s wedding day.
While investigating Ramon’s murder other relationships are exposed and affected. Drugs, murder, infidelity, police corruption, unexpected pregnancy and kidnapping are intertwined in ‘Thicker Than Blood’. During all this Gerald starts questioning his faith and his trust of those he knew for years especially his partner Carl. He also questioned his marriage, wondering if Camille really loved him.
This book is truly a who did what to who and how were they able to get away with so much without anyone catching on especially Gerald. Once I started reading ‘Thicker Than Blood’ I couldn’t put it down. My curiosity got the best of me. This book is truly a page turner. It has you wondering what’s going to happen next and how will these family secrets affect all those involved especially Gerald. This was a great and interesting read and I highly recommend it.
